This guide explains how to share prompts with others and effectively reuse prompts across different conversations and workflows in Cognipeer. Proper sharing and reuse of prompts enhances collaboration and ensures consistent interactions with AI across your organization.
Sharing Prompts with Others
Visibility Settings
When creating or editing a prompt, you can control who has access to it through visibility settings:
- Private: Only you can access and use the prompt
- Shared: Specific users or teams can access the prompt
- Public: All users in your workspace can access the prompt
How to Share a Prompt
- Navigate to the Prompts section in the sidebar
- Find the prompt you want to share and click on it to open
- Click the Share button
- Choose the appropriate visibility level
- If selecting "Shared," specify the users or teams who should have access
- Click Save to apply the sharing settings
Permission Levels
When sharing prompts, you can assign different permission levels:
- View: Users can see and use the prompt but cannot modify it
- Edit: Users can view, use, and modify the prompt
- Manage: Users have full control, including the ability to change sharing settings
To set permissions:
- In the sharing dialog, select a user or team
- Choose the appropriate permission level from the dropdown
- Click Add to apply the permission
- Repeat for additional users or teams
- Click Save to confirm all sharing settings
Reusing Prompts in Conversations
Using Prompts with Peers
There are several ways to use saved prompts in conversations with Peers:
Method 1: From the Prompts Section
- Navigate to the Prompts section
- Find the prompt you want to use
- Click the Use button
- If the prompt has parameters, fill in the parameter form
- Select the Peer you want to send the prompt to
- Click Send to start the conversation with your prompt
Method 2: Within an Existing Conversation
- In an active conversation with a Peer, click the Prompts button (usually near the message input)
- Browse or search for the prompt you want to use
- Select the prompt
- Fill in any parameters
- Click Insert to add the prompt to your message
- Optionally edit the prompt before sending
- Send the message to the Peer
Method 3: Quick Access (If Available)
If your organization has enabled quick access for prompts:
- In the message input field, type
/to open the prompt quick access menu - Browse or search for the prompt you want to use
- Select the prompt
- Fill in any parameters
- The prompt will be inserted into your message
- Send the message to the Peer
Parameter Handling
When using a prompt with parameters:
- A form will appear with fields for each parameter
- Required parameters must be filled before the prompt can be used
- For checkbox parameters, toggle the switch to enable/disable the option
- For date parameters, use the date picker to select a date
- Preview the final prompt with parameters filled in
- Make any final adjustments before sending
Integrating Prompts with Other Features
Using Prompts in Apps
Prompts can be incorporated into Apps as part of a workflow:
- When building an App, add an Ask Peer or Ask LLM step
- In the step configuration, click Use Saved Prompt
- Select the prompt you want to use
- Map App inputs to prompt parameters
- The prompt will be used when the App executes this step
